August 27 PTSA Meeting Update

The Huakailani PTSA has decided to raise funds through the Give Aloha program at Foodland, the Macy's Shop for a Cause; and possibly other fund raisers throughout the school year. Give Aloha information will be forthcoming.

The funds raised will be used for costumes, sets and location fee for the Nutcracker performance; and for a wireless microphone system. Additional requests for funds may be presented to the PTSA by the Huakailani Teachers and Director and will be voted on as presented and needs arise by the Huakailani PTSA.

A committee was formed for the Unhaunted Pumpkin Fair: committee meeting day to be announced by committee members (Trisha Gonzalvz, Salla Wagner, & Cate Edwards). If you are interested in being on this committee, please contact one of the above. There will be plenty of opportunity to help with this event between now and right up to clean up after the event.

Jan Reichelderfer and Nicole Prim have volunteered for the Grant Writing Committee. If you would like to join the committee or have ideas for grants, please contact Jan and/or Nicole. email: janr@hawaii.rr.com and email: nicoleprim@gmail.com.

eScrip coordinators Elizabeth Mayo and Stephanie Roncska will be contacting you regarding signing up for eScrip or switching your eScrip selection to Huakailani.

PTSA Meeting & Potluck Friday August 27 6 pm

We are having our first PTSA Meeting of the 2010/2011 School Year. This meeting features Stone Soup to eat and Stone Soup the play. Your entire Ohana is invited.... and we offer child care and dinner.

We are asking the Huakailani Ohana to contribute to our Stone Soup by sending in your contribution with your daughter to school on Friday August 27. The Upper Elementary will prepare the soup and it will cook during the day. Please bring either a nice bread or salad Friday evening to go with the soup.

We will start the meeting with dinner and the Stone Soup Play; then the children will go with the teachers to the school to watch a movie and we will have our PTSA Meeting. This is a great way to meet the Huakailani parents and get involved with school activities.

We hope to see many of you prior to this at the Ice Cream Social as well.

Are you interested in helping the PTSA with fundraising? We are in need of a Tupperware Committee Chair. You would help coordinate and promote the sale of Tupperware. This goes hand in hand with Huakailani's commitment to being environmentally responsible. Drop an email to: huakailaniptsa@gmail.com or call Ana 808-259-7792.
